Çimstone Care + Maintenance

Active women, conscious families and healthy generations of our times! Encounter Top Çimstone. We thank you for your due attention and meticulous care in choosing your countertop and appreciate your conscious choice. Çimstone countertop is tough, but not totally indestructible. It is enough to make a simple and regular care of your countertop for a life-long brand-new look. Çimstone is accredited by a hygiene report to be a nonporous, stain free material of high abrasion, scratch and impact resistance. Çimstone is reported by the prestigious independent German Product Analysis and Safety Center LGA GmbH to be free of any bacterial growth after exposure to moulds and resistant bacteria. As well the National Sanitation Foundation (NSF), has certified Çimstone as a safe material for direct contact with any kind of food. Accredited with an easy and excellent overall cleanability by the same, your Çimstone countertop has proved to be completely safe as to microbiological hygiene after cleaning which makes it ideal for food preparation. As Çimstone is highly resistant against acids and alkalis, tea, soda, wine, vinegar, lemonade, fruit juice stains and spots of strong spices are no more problem. Its nonporous structure makes Çimstone stain free. A simple cleaning done with a small amount of liquid detergent and a damp cloth makes the surface maintain its brand new look and clean appearance as in the first-day for long years. Besides a regular daily cleaning, the simplest way to care and maintain your countertop is to wipe away any spilled food before it turns into a permanent stain. Remember that detergents containing bleach and hard scouring granules may harm surfaces over the time. Therefore, pay due attention and meticulous care in detergent selection and use water to thoroughly cleanse the surfaces off any detergent residues after treatment.

Removing Dried Spills and Stubborn Stains

Food, drink or any other things spilled over the countertop may become stubborn stains if not immediately cleansed away. Gently scrape away with a plastic spatula any spills of paint, nail enamel, chewing gum, mustard and grease that become hard to remove when dried. Then cleanse off the surface with water. Apply kitchen and bath triggers such as Cif Power Spray by Unilever and Mr. Muscle Spray by Johnson Wax on any remaining stain and scrub with a fine blue Scotch-Brite (3M) sponge and cleanse thoroughly with water. Make use of gel cleaners containing bleach such as Domestos Ultra Bleach by Unilever and Mr. Proper Active Gel by Procter&Gamble which are proved to be successful in removing stubborn dirt that appear hard to clean right away. Never leave your countertop to dry without thoroughly rinsing away any residual cleaning agent. Especially the stains like rust are removed by the help of heavy chemicals and such treatment makes the surface wear away. First of all, do not let any rust or lime form into stain. If there are already spots of lime and rust, then use products like Marc Deo Lime and Rust Removing Gel by Reckitt Benckiser, provided however that it is directly applied on the stain and certainly rinsed with water after treatment. In order to cleanse off residues of grease on a Çimstone surface, use Cilit Bang by Reckitt Benckiser or Ajax Spray & Wipe by Colgate Palmolive provided however that such agents are well rinsed with water and the surface is thoroughly cleansed with water after treatment.

Çimstone is Tough, but not totally Indestructible

Like any other surface, Çimstone can be permanently damaged by exposure to strong chemicals and solvents that undermine its physical properties. Do not use products that contain alifatic or aromatic solvents (like thinners) or products containing trichloroethane or methylene chloride. Avoid any highly aggressive cleaning agents like oven/grill cleaners as well as dishwasher agents of high alkaline/PH levels. Treatment with these chemicals and such other products containing these may harm your countertop. Products containing oils or powders may dim the surface. Cleansers containing materials like pine oil, if left on the surface for a long time, may form a permanent dingy layer. Never use cleaning products containing soft or hard scouring granules such as Vim Scouring Powder or Cif Cream. Instead, prefer gel or liquid cleaning products. Cleansers with high level of acids (such as hydrochloric acid) or alkalis, if not well rinsed with water after treatment, will start to affect Çimstone within time. Cleaning agents (general cleaning products sold on the market) with either a neutral or an almost neutral Ph balance should be preferred. Do not use any alkali products containing active hydroxide or any acidic products that are powerful enough to affect the grouts. In case of any accidental exposure to any of these damaging products, rinse off your countertop immediately with water to neutralize the effect.

Avoid Exposure to High Heat

Çimstone can tolerate brief exposures to moderately hot temperatures. Still, avoid placing any hot pot or oven tray direct from the heat source onto the countertop; definitely use a tablemat (trivet). When exposed to high temperatures, surfaces can react in various ways (cracking, discoloration, porosity etc.) depending on the product properties. Fabricated or cutout parts on slabs are much more frail, should therefore never be exposed to heat or open flame. When a heat source is situated close to a Çimstone backsplash/surface, take proper care for the reflected heat. It may accumulate resulting in very high temperatures causing damage to your countertop.
